If anyone has rigged up their Mark V with disk brakes, how did it turn out?
I'm looking into building up a Mark V with a front disk brake, but am not sure how the ride would differ using a cyclocross fork as opposed to the standard or carbon straight fork. I'm a heafty rider in Boston, so I will be encountering some slopes/snow/sand and such; hence my interest in the disks.
I've read the threads with opinions on whether disk breaks are appropriate on road/fixed bikes, but does anyone have experience doing this or know of a road fork that is built for disk brake use?
Thanks,
Chad
I'm in the process of doing this to my Bianchi Pista. I got a disc fork off of eBay really cheap, I'm getting a Surly Disc Hub / Salsa Delgado wheel built. Here's some fixed gear gallery pics of a Mark V with a disc:

Do you have a pic or any specs of the fork you bought?
I think it may be a Dimension fork. 1" steertube, disc mounts only. Here's a link to the auction I bought it from:

Nashbar also has some cheap disc cyclocross forks. I'll post a photo of the bike once it gets built up. Just waiting on the front wheel from LBS.

Thanks, and I look forward to seeing how your bike comes out...

That's a Jamie Roy not a Mark V. Sheldon Brown did the same thing to his Roy. You might ask him how it was.

I'm almost done building my Mark V with a Dimension disc specific cross fork. Avid road mechanical brake and velocity built wheels. I'm just waiting on the wheels now. I'm a big guy too, i look forward to riding it a ton! I'll post pics once i'm done.
