Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

i was advised that i should go to home depot and buy some paint/varnish remover/stripper and remove the clear coat etc. if i do remove the clear coat do i coat it with something after? if i remove the clear coat will the bike rust? i want to remove the decals but i dont want to mess anything up, you know? is there anyone out there who has done this or has detailed advice?
thanks
Use the search, Luke.
There's an entire thread with a how to.
Yup, search. But, in a word: Jasco.

i'm going to throw out that the search on this one is somewhat hurting and limited. because i tried to look this up about two weeks ago. The original question turns into an argument about being ashamed or proud to have Pista. Then there's another about how you shouldn't use steel wool. but maybe i just don't have the skills to search properly. i have never seen anyone give explicit step by step. which is all anyone who wonders how to do this wants.
