Are there any tangible differences between the frame on the Stumpy FSR 120 and the S-Works version of it? Same shock and everything i am just wondering if it is worth the money for the S-Works model.

Are you comparing just the frames or the complete bikes?
The reason I ask, is that I don't think the FSR 120 is available as a "frame only" without being an "S-Works".
If you are comparing the 120 Pro with the S-works then the difference is evident with the components.
If you go to Specialized's website and go to the Stumpjumper FSR section and their pull down menu links you to the S-Works frame.

Yes, you're right. I just looked up frame weights. There's gonna be lots of other differences for your $1900. I don't have any experience with either. Just been shopping also.

The S Works frames are made from m5 alloy and the regular stumpjumper frames are made from a alloy called m4.
m5 is stronger, lighter and stiffer, according to there website.
I have an epic with m4 tubing and It seems to work ok :)
You probably wouldn't notice the difference unless you were
1. professionally racing
2. a rich guy trying to impress your friends
3. A real weight weenie

S-Works are worth every penny. And, you don't have to want impress friends to buy one.

i was just comparing the frames. I have a '04 Stumpjumper FSR and somebody offered to buy it from me. I was planning to go full sram, notubes wheels and juicy disc brakes...pretty much a full component upgrade and was wondering if it would be worth the deal to just get the s-works frame and fork and build it up instead of keeping mine and just changing out the parts. Thanks for the help

i recently had a conversation while leaving a trail with someone that was just gettin his bike out. i noticed he had a s-works epic. so i went over and asked him a few questions. he said he had a stumpjumper fsr before he got his epic and he said he loved it but wanted a better bike for xc. i didnt catch the year but by how he was talking about it it seemed like it is a good bike.
