Classic & Vintage - A "freight bike" from the 30:ties.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just wanted to show my new 'preciousssss' :)
It is made in the early 1930:ties, everything is original (except tires and tubes, maybe not stem / bars neither). It has a nice big Bosch headlight for example with a dynamo. Original saddle, hard as hell :) The rack is not made out of tubes as the later models (1940 and onwards), really beautiful this old rack.
What else can I say, it is newly renovated by a pro and was priced at 650 USD but I managed to get it for uhh... less :)
I biked home this evening on it, it is about 19 km with some hills... on my MTB, 21 gears, it takes me 50 minutes normally. On this beauty, which weighs about 10 kg MORE then my MTB, it only took 58 minutes. If you get her rolling, she just keeps on going, even uphill :D
If anyone is interested I can post more pics tomorrow.

Cool! One of my local pizza shops has a similar bike hanging from the ceiling as part of their 'decor'. Much better to have it on the road, IMO.

All very nice, esp. that chainguard! Does the Bosch dynamo work? I like the oil fitting on the rear hub, too.

The Bosch dynamo should work according to the LBS that renovated the bike and sold it to me. I havent had the opportunity to try yet, daylight from 3 in the morning 'til midnight tend to limit the use of headlights :)

The oil fittings on both hubs are adorable... really got me going first time I saw them :) Not to mention the white lining on the mudguards and on the rims, very stylish.

Here's a pic of a Worksman Delivery Bike. It's fairly new but I built the box in front, added repro signs and an original set of bells on the handlebars. I rent bicycles to the film and ad business and thought it might be just what someone wants to feature.
