I'm wondering if it's possible to replace my hard fork with some shocks. I guess my bike is a threaded system(??). But, I've been told I would need to convert it over to a threadless headset to add shocks.
ANyone know much about this?
I got my GIANT ATX (I think 860) back in 1996 before shocks and threadless headsets were standard. I ride occassionally -- haven't been out for about 2 years, but want to get back into it. I don't do anything heavy (obviously!), but I like to ride on trails (dirt, not paved). I used to ride more, but without shocks, you're kind of limited.
If conversion is necessary (is it??) in order to add shocks, how much would it cost?
I would rather do a conversion, even though my bike isn't that great. I'm not too concerned about having a killer bike though since I don't ride that often. Just want some shocks to make it a little more enjoyable.
Thanks!
