I'm in a breakfast slump. Bowl of whole grain cereal and half a glass of OJ. Been the same damn thing for...like....3 years. I'm sick of it!! :( Got any ideas for me for something healty, light, and fairly tasty? Something I could eat real fast before going to work? I didn't even eat this morning I was so fed up with the same old thing. And now I'm feeling sorta sick. :o Not really hungry, just sorta "queezy". So I think I need to be eating something.

Race down to Denny's, brush past the hostess, hop the bar and yell "Slam! O-E!" over the pass bar. Have some OJ, too.
Instant oatmeal (I like the kind w. flax in it) w. some brown sugar! Yummm! Toast with almond butter and jam or honey and/or banana. Those are some of the variables I add to my speedy breakfast.
When you have more time, try toast with a thin slice of ham on it and a fried egg on top, it's really good!

Try making something the night before that you can heat up real fast or something. Cause quick and good dont always go together. The night before fry some eggs and get some low fat cheese and ham and put it on a whole wheat biscut, make 2-4 depending on how much you eat and in the moring you can put them in the microwave for a few seconds and they are great on the road on the way to work.
oatmeal, instant or the quick cook with two tablespoons of canned pumpkin. Use the canned pumpkin with the pumpkin pie spices already in it.

Go to work with Stubacca on Friday and get one of those breakfast burritos. They sound good.
Maybe I'm the world's most boring man, or maybe I've found the perfect breakfast, but I've basically been eating the same thing for about ten years and I never tire of it. Just a bowl of Fruit&Fibre with a sliced banana and milk. Sometimes I add dried apricots and/or strawberry yoghurt.
I've tired of other cereals, but never this one. Don't know why. Every time it seems like a treat. Is that sad or what?

Add a bit of fruit to the cereal, either fresh or dried. Raspberries and blueberries are great in the summer, and a good ol' banana all year round.
Dried apricots rock my world too (though eat them in moderation... trust me ;))
a smoothie made the night before with fruit, unsweetened soy milk, and a scoop
of protein powder.

1/2 cup instant oatmeal, mix into it 1 tbs honey, dash or two of cinnamon, 1 banana. 1 apple add 1/2 cup milk. In less than 2 minutes your are eating and a glass about 8 oz of OJ, about an hour later I slam a PB&J sandwich made with either almond butter of crunchy natural peanut butter with some water.

Egg sandwich.
1-Large egg
1-Tbsp milk
1-tsp Canola oil
1-slice American cheese.
2-slices white or wheat bread.
Whip up egg in bowl with milk. Put oil in small 6" non-stick saute pan. Heat up on med-low. Add egg mix. Cook like an omelet, flip over so you have a round egg pancake. Toast bread in toaster. Put your egg on toast with slice of cheese.
Hold sandwich close to your mouth, and smell. Smells good doesn't it? Don't eat yet, just smell it for a minute while the cheese melts from the warm egg.
Ok, now eat sandwich. Take a bite, chew it, and swallow. Wash it down with some blueberry juice or something else if OJ is getting on your nerves. Besides, blueberry juice is great for the prostate.
Make sure you swallow the sandwich. It gets hard to put the whole thing in your mouth unless you swallow. And make sure you wash it down. Nothing worse than dry toast.

Wow, THAT is a great idea!! I will try that.
I thought of another one that I love, which would probably make a nice recovery drink actually.
1 cup of 1% milk
1 banana
1.5-1 cup of frozen blueberries
1 tablespoon of honey (Splenda if on a diet)
Blend in blender.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!
Strawberries + Bannanas + OJ = Breakfast (add milk or yohgurt if you're into the dairy thing)
Try the Winston Churchill breakfast!
1/2 of a fifth of vodka
1 cigar
mmm, mmmm, mm!!!! The Hunter S. Thompson variation is as simple as adding a couple of lines of coke and a spliff!
bon appetít!

I really like the Kashi GoLean frozen blueberry waffles. They are whole-grain, and have a good amount of protein too. I spread on some natural peanut butter and top it with a bit of pure maple syrup. Delicious!

the Weight Watchers Puffed Wheat with Almonds is surprisingly good if you want low fat/cal.
One of my favorite quick breakfasts is peanut butter (natural w/o trans fat of course) and frozen blueberries in a whole wheat eggo taco. Just toast the eggo waffle and then spread some peanut butter on it. Top with blueberries (thawed or unthawed), and fold it up like a taco. You get protein, fruit, antioxidants, and fiber all in one. I'll have two for breakfast.
Sometimes I'll fry an egg, melt cheese on it, put it on a toasted english muffin, and top with sliced ham. 2-minute breakfast sandwich.

why does it have to be breakfast food?
Have a ham and cheese.
Have some grilled chicken and vegetables.
A chunk of brie and a little crusty bread.
Lox on tomato in the summer.
I'll eat anything for breakfast as long as it's high in protein and has no sugar.

I like a sliced banana with some low-fat vanilla yogurt. yummy
I understand completely - the problem is, what tastes good, is quick to eat and will provide enough energy? (I commute by bike in the morning, so the last part is especially important for me) Here's a thing that everyone overlooks as a breakfast food: peanut butter. I spread peanut butter on a whole wheat pita with a drizzle of honey and roll it into a tube-like thing. It's portable, quick and provides protein, low glycemic carbs and some natural sugar to get my muscles revved up in the morning. I also go with flax waffles (with a bit of honey, of course) or a couple handfuls of trail mix in a ziplock - all good foods to start the day with. Who says it always has to be cereal! :)
