Indeed I am addicted!! I completed my third tri this morning. Sprint of course.

300 meter Swim: 6:57
13.2 mile Bike: 57:07
5 K Run: 44:00

T1 3:23
T2: 1:55

total time 1:53:24

Overall I'm pleased as can be. I made my goal of sub 2 hours and of course the goal of not having the worst time!! I placed 131 out of 144. I tried to take it easy on the swim in an effort to not go anerobic in the pool. I would have had a better swim time had I not let a girl pass me on the wall. Lesson learned. Still working on my run, I'd like to be able to run the whole 5k but for now it's a walk/jog. Anyway, I'm happy with my results. Next tri is open water...we'll see!! (July 30th) :)

Man I suck at swimming... (for background reference my other thread :( )

Good job! With those swim and bike times I'm sure you've got more in you for the run. A good goal might be 30 minutes (10 min/mi) which is a nice brisk jog/slow run for many.

way to go u r racking the experience quick. My 2nd one is next week cant wait. You could probably jump up a few places if u wouldn't stop for coffee and a bagel at T1...just kidding :)
Really T1 and T2 sound like a good place to lose 2 or 3 min. that alone will jump u up a few places.

Yeah no kidding! The gal who won had transition times of less than 40 seconds!! I can't put my socks on in 30 seconds. And going without socks is not an option for my tender feetsies (I'm a Thorlos girl all the way). The last three tris I've messed with forcing my jersey on over a wet swimsuit and that has cost time...so I ordered a top I can wear straight through. I needed the coverage on my shoulders for sun protection which is why I bothered with the jersey in the first place. Anyway...that should come shortly. I'm also going to start practicing transitions. I'm happy with my run time, mostly because I'm not a runner, and that time reflects a brisk walk, ocassional jog. My goal is to eventually be able to run without walking. It is so hard on my knees though, I'm still working through the risk/benefit ratio.

Good luck on your next tri! Expecting a report!!

Do alot of brick training(bike, run, bike run, bike, run....repeat as neccesary.)

Ride like 10km, run 2km, ride 10, run 2.. or any variationg you please, it will train your body to adapt to the dramatic change in how you are using your legs in teh period of a few minutes.

The jersey thing, i was about to saysomething about that, but i seen you got one ordered already.

will you be swimming in a wetsuit? if so, practice getting out of it fast, after doing a open water training swim in it.

If you are comfortable on your bike, you can try mounting and dismounting your bike with teh shoes still clipped in(you should be in bare feet to do this though). I am against socks, but somepeople need/want them, that is their own decision.
