Hello all. Another Newbie just joining the club. Just started getting into the bikes a few months ago. Currently riding a '05 Stumpjumper Disc MTB and just picked up a '01 Allez Sport on Ebay just to give the road bikes a try. Looking forward to advise from the veterans. Thanks/BKK

I did a test ride on the GW Parkway on a Trek 5000 from Spokes yesterday. First time on a road bike and it felt pretty good. However, I did it on a newly sprained left ankle and I am paying for it today. Where did you ride to and what's your machine?

Trek 750, older model hybrid.
On saturday I started at Bellhaven, rode 20 miles around the Alexandria Heritage Trail, then to Mount Vernon and back. About 40 miles total.

Good ride. Sounds like you've been riding for a while. I do the Belle Haven - Mt. Vernon on my rides with the MTB.

Yep. A while.
I like to vary my rides. Different trail or road each week. Not too much repetition. Already been to MV three times this season so I may not again until fall.
Time to work on the western roads. Out towards. Loudon, Faquier and Prince William.

If you're interested in club rides, these are good ones.
