Classic & Vintage - St. Louis, MO a wasteland... Any hints?

Hi,

I've been hunting for vintage bikes here in St. Louis for a while, and only come up with garbage or nothing at all... Most thrift stores have no bikes at all, and some have a few pixies and an 80's huffy. Not much craigslist action here, though I did pick up a really nice pristine Raleigh Sport for 75$ recently.

Any locals who can give me some hints on where to look, or general hints for other sorts of places to go?

Thanks!
Sam

Call your local goodwill and salvation army; see if they do auctions. They are often done at a central warehouse.

I've dealt with "recycled cycles" on several occasions and he has always been honest, but he knows the value of his merchandise so don't expect to pick up a nice vintage bike for super cheap. I bought an early 80s Peugeot for $10 at a community yard sale. I don't know what you are looking for, but I would suspect that around the college campuses there is a reasonable trade in used bikes.
