I just bought a Raleigh Twenty folding bike and I'm planning to build a fixed gear out of it.
What is the available fixed hubs for this projects ?
Where can I get it ?

Try harriscyclery.com they know these bikes and they know fixies. also, try posting in the fixed forum.

I did a no-brand folder into fixie conversion a few months ago - they're great fun.

Measure the space between the inside faces of the dropouts. That'll tell you what size hub to go for. In my case, a 120mm track hub fitted perfectly, but YMMV. And post pics when you're done!

If you live in the United States.Check the bike Nashbar website as well.They had a 110 mm fixed hub ,Flip flop i think ?and a 3 speed shimano hub available as well as a 135 mm single speed hub. :)

There are a few fixed Twenties on www.fixedgeargallery.com - Maybe you could ask their owners how they did it - best way to find them in the mass of full sized bikes is do a marque search for 'Raleigh'

Don't you have trouble pedaling these things uphill? I have an old Twenty, and it's no picnic going uphill with 3 speeds.

Get out of the saddle and stomp it, same as any other fixie! The back end is a bit fishtaily and weird, but it does the job.

A fixie is more mechanically efficient 'cos there are no guts rolling around inside the hub gear: those guts have play and friction. The difference is about 12%, IIRC. Add fixie mojo and a fixed-wheel bike usually dances up hills.
