Hello,
Obviously I'm new here. Looking to get into some recreational Mountain Biking. Was wondering were the best place to research bikes are. I'll be searching the forum when I have the time, but being such a newbie to this stuff if someone could point me in the right direction, I'd be greatful.

I'm looking to spend about $300. Nothing too fancy, just something to get out there with my friends and get a little excersize while I'm at it.

Thanks in advanced for the help.

Welcome to the forum. As far as getting into mountain biking and researching bikes, I think the best place is in your local bike shops. All of the companies have entry level bikes in the price range you are looking at. It is best to ride some of these around and get a feel for the geometry of each individual brand.
