Mountain Biking - In a wreck of a situation!

My Trek Bruiser 2 is next to demolished. I broke an axle, warped my rim several times, broke my derailleur hanger and mangled my derailleur, oh and I broke my chain. All from one 2 foot drop, which I landed corretly...

So...What would be a good new rim to buy cheap anyway? I heard rhyno lites were good, but will they withstand the beating?

I have a hard time beliving you landed correctly if you broke that much stuff....

I would go with some stronger rims.

Rims are the best best i think, after you get all your other bits working properly again.

Rhyno lites are good rims, they can withstand a 2 foot drop. But its odd because the stuff i have is much lighter than the stuff on a bruiser. Yet i have not broken one piece from it

damn thats just bad luck. I've done 5-6ft drop to flat and same amount to some trannys and nothing has broke on the bike yet. I beat the living crap out of this bike. I've gone 20+ mph through some rockgardens and it just keeps asking for more.

Ryhnolites are good rims for $100, if you have more cash, get Azonic Outlaws $220-250 pending where you go. The Outlaws are more FR/DH rims. Rhynolite are XC type but strong and light. My buddy beats the crap out of his rhynolites and he's crazier/faster then me.

Rhynolites aren't exactly light by XC standards, but they certainly stand up to the kind of abuse I can throw at them

I've done well more than 2 ft. on my Bruiser and haven't done anything near that, especially landing correctly. I'm having trouble believing that this all happened form that. How many times did you hit the drop also?

pictures, of the drop and your bike. I might suggest just going singlespeed, but you probably still have a triple up front. I guess you could always loose two rings and add a bash gaurd, and then you'd even have an extra derailler and shifter set to sell...

YOu know, you could always do what i did, Get some mammoth rims to take any abuse you can throw at them, and they are somewhat inexpensive..To bad they weigh alot, Its been two years and ive only been able to slightly out of tru them, and that was with the abuse i gave them on my hardtail..

the bruiser 2 comes with the basher already. You can get a rear derailer for 30-40 bucks. Go cheap since you might break it again or have somehting rip it off the bike

To break that amount of parts from a 2 foot drop is not really believible...you must have landed pretty screwed up. (even though you said you landed it fine)

My rear rim was already warped a bit. When I landed, I think I broke my axle and warped my rim, so the derailleur got caught in the spokes...and ya. Think of it morely this way, this was the straw that broke the camels back. I had been doing a lot of drops and stuff that day, and that small drop was all that it needed. I went to my LBS yesterday and I looked at new rims. I think I'll get the Mammoth rims, or perhaps the Double track rims. I plan on just getting the same parts as I had before, Alivio derailleur and stuff. I'd take pictures, but I don't have a digital Camera :( .

Now that I think of it...that drop was more of a contest, lol. My friends and I were having a contest on who could bunny hop the furthest over it with speed. When my derailleur got caught, it locked my whole back wheel and scared the crap outta me.

I can understand a derauller getting caught in the spokes, but the broken axle is still confusing me. How much do you weigh, and I'm assuming it was your rear axle.
