Great movie. I picked mine up at a local CD/DVD chain. It was surprisingly easy to find. ESPN sometime plays it on their movie night too. I can't figure out one thing though: What kind of bikes do they ride in the Little 500? Are they single or fixed or even coaster? It boggles my mind.

The IMDB message board for the movie has some great stuff on it. Highly recommended.

When we watched it, the movie was as good (and "Campy", of course I love that pun) as ever. The DVD transfer was of superior quality, too.

How about American Flyers? Ever check out that one? I only mention this because I've only recently seen it.

I own both movies (American Flyers and Breaking Away) and I feel like Breaking away is a much better movie.
and IchibanJay I think that they ride track bikes but I'll have to watch it again. I don't recall seeing brakes on the bike sthe first couple times I watched it.
I got it and american flyers and quicksilver for christmas.
they are fixed gear bikes.coaster brakes and all.
I prefferd american flyers.dunno why really just do.I guess I like to watch them ride in the mountains.
they all have good stories to them, and good riding in them.

I've got Breaking Away which I recorded from t. v. and I watch it occasionally even though I sometimes think its message is one that makes me sad: not all "pro's" are necessarily good guys. Or, is he in the wrong sport and doesn't know what it takes to be a racer? I've never seen American Flyer, but would like to. Is it on video?
