btw... the attemps in nwd2 at the jah drop are way funnier... on one he slips both pedals and supermans out of it... he also shatters his helmet shell on the bars....

ps. if you look closely at the attempts in nwd2, you'll nodice hes wearing moto-x boots

06-23-05, 09:01 PM
man thats almost as bad as Seths bail on the jump over his house that he over-shoots...his helmet hit the bars so hard his goggles ripped a screw from his triple clamp out and cut his eyebrow i believe...his whole head was pulled down to and now hes got a widows peek scar

arboc!

Forks 101:

"Shocks" isn't the correct term to refer to the "Forks" of a bicycle....

Maybe you were referring to the rear shock, but I seriously doubt it....

Since there's only one per bike, wouldn't "fork" be a more appropriate term?

and even if he used the wrong word, i dont think you can get much better suspension then that bike.

i agree, and that drop on a moto bike would not go good, Those guys go sick distance and height, but they land in spots that are meant to land, that hill is no where near steep enough for a moto bike.IMHO thats what i feel. Yea, there was another vid on here about the other attempts, sick, just sick..

That was pretty cool cuz I never get tired of good crashes, but I really like the fact that Anthrax was playing in the background of the replay. Don't hear that every day....

As for slvoid's thread title, I think he was just referring to devices designed to absorb impact whether that be a fork, rear shock or whatever.

I am with DJP1 on this, you do ont go out doing drops on a moto bike. I have done a 2m drop on one and it feels weird. I have talked t oa couple of guys in Aus who do freestyle MX and those sort of things and they reckon it is stupid doing drops on MX's unless you have a **** load of forward momentum and a nice down ramp. The bikes are just too heavy and it makes for harsher landings, even with lots of suspension.

Wow you really love to argue huh. I never said i had proof. "in my opinion"...read man or do u need to go back to skool?

arboc!
06-27-05, 05:09 PM
well your opinion is wrong... i ride dirtbikes, and i have never once seen anyone drop anything near this high....

Apparently you do. I'm starting to think electroshock aversion therapy is the only way to get this out of your system.

Where'd I put those jumper cables?

What about that motox jump into the gran canyon in some movie. Thats bigger, of course the bike gets destroyed and the guy has a parachute :) :p

arboc!
06-28-05, 12:17 PM
hahaha.... was that by chance in triple x? sounds like something that would be in that movie.

06-28-05, 12:19 PM
Not even sure. We have a channel called Action Sports Network (local) that plays bmx, mx, mtb and skate vids all summer. That happened to be one and I thought through the whole jump,

" holy crap thats like a 200ft drop...jesus freeriding sucks monkey **** "

Needless to say I was sorely disapointed. I thought the whole thing was pretty lame. Huge...but lame.

arboc!
06-28-05, 12:32 PM
i want an action sports channel.... this sucks!

Maelstrom
06-28-05, 12:43 PM
Biggest issue is it is run by a bunch of skaters. So 80% of the vids are skating (bleh) and snowboarding (in the winter)...

arboc!
07-01-05, 09:18 PM
i enjoy some skateboarding.... (none of this "im super gnarly, because i wear girls pants"). i cant say ive seen as much of that in the snowboarding world. oh how i miss winter
