Since I am receiving no love in the Bicycle Mechanics forum, I thought I'd try my luck here. Basically it's about the difference between the XT 750 and 760 freehub bodies and why is 750 almost twice as expensive as the 760.

Nevermind... I went to a local LBS and talked to some mechanics (they actually looked this stuff up in the catalog) and basically any 9 speed shimano freehub body is interchangeable as long as you get a new cassette side bearing cone. So for example:
- LX hub
- want to put on XT freehub body
- need a new right side XT bearing cone (instead of the LX bearing cone)
Now, where do you find replacement bearing cones???

In a LBS catalog or http://www.thethirdhand.com/index.cgi
