I just read of a Canadian Tire bike Fringe with a 26 or 18 inch frame.
I am 5'8" with a 30" inseam and I am measured up for a 16" bike from Kona or Brodie
How are these other bike being measured
26" frame?? How tall are these bike riders.
I had a 17" Brodie Bandit and it was a bit to big for me for what I did with it.
Are some of these bikes of a different measureing system

I think frame size is the length of the top tube (the tube that goes from the front of the bike to the seat). The reason the Canadian Tire bike had such a large frame size was that it is a xc bike. The kons you were fitted for had a completely different frame geometry, resulting in a shorter top tube. What type of riding do you do anyway? Generally jumping bikes will have smaller sizes, making them easier to control.

It refers to the wheel diameter.

The frame size is measured from bottom bracket to the top of the seat tube.

I do technical trails around here.
Big Rocks roots wooden bridges.
Where I live is in a gorge. hills on all 3 sides and water front on the other so I can find rough terrain if I ride.
I find trails that have obstacles that I never make hense the need to be able to plant a foot to the ground fast instead of falling off a bike that feels like a pony.
Most of the time I am trying to get over the rocks and crevices
Do you know the best tires for alot of rocks? I have nobbys but I dont get the same traction I did with my Brodie.
