Mountain Biking - my bike

It's a weird question, but I kind of want you to criticize my bike. Pretty soon, I'm going to have some money to spend on new parts. I want to know what you think needs improving (but hearing something good won't hurt either). And...please, nothing like "your bike sucks". I just need some helpful comments.

Am i missing some thing here, where is what you want us to look at???

What do you plan on using it for. Trails or city riding..

Oh, right. No city riding at all. I live in a rural area, so just trail riding, small dirt jumps, and a little bit of pavement.

How much will you have to spend? That will make a difference on what parts to get.

Also, that is a lower end KHS and if you hit a lot of jumps with it you will break the frame.
I have a few friends that weigh about 135lbs soaking wet who had that as a first bike and broke the frame. Just be aware of that and check the frame for cracks from time to time.

Sorry, but it wouldn't really feel right talking bad about your bike. Most likely there are other people on here that own the same bike that would rather people did not just go off bashing their bike.

Now, if you want a better bike then that is completely understandable. What are your likes and dislikes of your current bike? Knowing that we could probably help point you in the right direction for your next one.

Since you are only using it on trails, take the reflectors off. Now. :) And the plastic peice behind the cassette. Now.

Other than that, I would wait to see what breaks first, and then go from there

Replacing the front fork cant hurt. I would suggest a talas.

Only about $150 Canadian.

Well..I don't really like the shocks.

A new fork that is decent will cost you around 500 bucks, which is money I wouldnt put in to that bike. Ride the piss out of it and then find your inner pyro and blow it up! Then you can start looking for a new ride.

Or if you off road in any weather then a front disk would be cool (likely going to be more then $150 though)

Save your money. Instead of spending $150 on it, just ride it as it is, replacing smaller bits which break. When something big breaks, buy a new bike. Don't spend $150 on it.

I would save for a better bike. Maybe sell this one and get some cash out of it and apply it to your next one.

i 3rd that, I wouldnt put any more money into it, just ride it until something bad breaks, save your money and buy a better bike when this happens.
