...has anybody else seen it?

For those who haven't, FitTV is one of Discovery's "other" channels. My local cable company has it buried in the high numbers so it wasn't easy to find. They've been airing a one-hour show on Wednesdays at 8 PM (Eastern). So far 2 of 5 have aired, basically taking the team from training camp in January through the preparation for the Tour.

It's a little bit along the lines of the "Lance Chronicles" but a bit more in-depth. It hasn't been all-Lance all-the-time, but has focused a bit on George Hincapie, Roger Hammond and Tony Cruz (more of the English speakers, I guess). Last night's episode covered Paris-Roubaix.

So far the best thing was a segment with Julien de Vriese, showing him prepping the bikes for Paris-Roubaix and rooting around in the cellar where he "ages the tubulars." He grabs a stack of seven-year-old tires and says that that when that stack is done then Lance is done, too. Then he debates with another staff member about how of course there will be "another Lance", because, you know, he's wrenched for Merckx and Armstrong and if anyone should know....

Also, it was amusing to see Lance on a solo training ride in California, passing recreational cyclists on the road and seeing their heads snap around...you can almost hear them thinking, "Was that--??"

Anyway, check out your cable listings, if you're interested.

It is a great show - much better than the "Lance Chronicles" IMO. Last night's show was 75% on Hincapie and Paris-Roubaix. Excellent.

BTW, they are replaying all of them next week.

I've been watching, I think it is much better than last year's Lance Chronicles.

For you Lance lovers, here's the Discovery Channel's cycling coverage, some of it is in HDTV:

"The Science of Lance Armstrong" will air next week.

Jessica and I have been watching them too. I'm thinking about taping them when they're replayed.

Thanks. I set up my DVR to record the whole series next week. BTW: They are having a Chasing Lance night all night next Wednesday.

Loved watching Lance pull up along a regular cyclist atop a mountain on one of his training rides in LA

"you need help, you OK?" (thinking the guy had a flat or something)

and the guy says "no, just cramping"

and you could just tell, as the support car pulls by, that the guy was thinking "god damn man, i meet lance armstrong on a ride and I'm sitting here with a freaking cramp"

but i though it was so cool that lance behaves just like all the rest of us, trying to help his fellow cyclists on the route.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll have to set up a reminder in my Palm!

I watched about 20 minutes of it the other day. Fit TV needs to get rid of the "fit TV" logo. I'm afraid it's going to burn an image into my RPTV. :(

lol, if that were me, I'd have said something goofy like, "Yeah, you're lucky I got this cramp, otherwise you'd have to race me!" :p

I'm forever challenging motorcycles to races while I'm on my road bike. Fortunately none of them ever accept.

This show is really well done. My wife, with only a passing interest in pro cycling, really likes it too.

I can't imagine running into Lance during one of my rides.

Kind of like Tom Brady showing up to my backyard football toss, or Michael Jordon dropping by the driveway to play a quick game of horse.

I was thinking the same thing 'cept mine was with Joe Montana (but Brady is probably as good, I guess). But yeah, it must be freaky. Lance blew by two other guys in another scene and in that brief second, you could see them like - what the?

On the scout mission for Paris-Roubaix, it looked like some local riders joined the team for a bit or was that another team scouting? Those guys had huge smiles on their faces too.

My sister-in-law was riding near the top of the Col du Madelaine last week when Lance and his Disco climbing buddies came over the top from the other side. She being one of the only women on the road and very near the summit caught Lance's eye.

He looked at her and said "Senorita!"

I think it made her day.

Their group saw the Disco boys several other times that week training in the Alps. My brother got one of Lance's water bottles FWIW.

I am the Executive Producer of FitTV's "Chasing Lance" and want to thank everyone who has watched the shows so far - "100 Days to the Tour" and "Hell of the North". We love to hear feedback, both good and bad, and hope that you keep it coming as the new shows hit air. As you can imagine we have spent a ton of time with the Discovery Cycling team over the past few months and hope that our viewers enjoy an unprecedented look at how the top team in cycling operates. We will also cover the team for the entire Tour and will show you what OLN can't...behind the scenes with Lance and his team. Look for 2-3 additional "Chasing Lance" shows in August on FitTV.

Starting next Monday night at 8PM through Friday night at 8PM, FitTV will air all 5 "Chasing Lance" episodes. The entire series will run back to back at 3pm on Saturday, July 3nd. On Sunday the 3rd, Discovery HD Theatre will premiere all of the shows in HD - truly a sight to be seen.

We encourage any and all feedback on our series. Please send us an email with your thoughts...

I would just pop my tire just to say his team helped me out.
