I am going to get one at a sport chek for $40 CAD. is it worth it? my LBS lists it as 79.99 :eek:

i'm wondering if it's worth it because i know its specialized, but am i better off buying a higher-end helmet? i due mainly roading and some trails, and i will get into freeride very soon.

Saved my life last summer, still have it as a souvenir... all cracked up all around the circumference of the helmet from when I crashed in Central Park (knocked me unconscious but I lived!).

I have one now and its okay. I'll be buying a more expensive one in a week of so because I don't like the straps. They never seem to lay flat but instead are always twisted in some way. Its really not an issue since the helmet does its job otherwise, but on long rides the twisted straps can get a little annoying.

so what about jumping or leaping with a hardtail? >_<

Why did I know that you lived round toronto? 80 bucks for that helm is ridiculous, I got mine for 20 at a sportchek which was going under. It's a good starter helmet, but as you advance, I expect that you will get a semi mx helm or something, they tend to be stronger...

Mine cost $40.00

I currently use a low end Giro (an MTB model, don't know which) that cost $45.00, that I like a lot more than the $100 Monza I also have.

it was weird, kuz the sticker on the display said 49.99, then the one next to it said 44.99... then the box had a sticker that said the air force was 39.99!

so i got it for the 39.99 price.
