Touring - Danube Trail anyone ?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Has anyone done the Danube cycle trail across Austria ?
I am looking at a nice and simple 10 day or so European route for myself and my wife. She has never been touring on a bike, she has done 50 (flat) miles on a number of occasions, but never anything loaded up or up hill. Having said which, when loaded I'm not keen on hills either.
So suggestions of a flat 4-500 mile route please, plus how to get there from London.
If you have done the Danube Trail, where did you start/finish ? How did you get there ? What is a reasonable number of miles per day ? Did you camp or hostel ? What is the best direction of travel east/west or west/east ? Can you make a circuit of the route in any way or do you have to come back the way you went, or can you extend the route and come back by train ?

Alexey
Thanks for your info - I went to a very good map shop, found your map, bought it, and then found an even better one, 1 to 50,000 of the entire route, with a 100 page description of the route in English !!
So anyone looking at this route get:

Very interesting description of your trip Alexey. How experienced were you, your spouse and son before you left, either/or bicycling in general and touring by bike?
It was our first long tour. This summer we made another one from D.C. to Pittsburgh, PA, and back (1000 miles).
But I had read a lot and systematically about long distance tours before we hit the Danube Cycle Path. It turned out as the result that our bikes, panniers and camping equipment were OK.
By the way, the Austrian cyclists say instead of "On your left!" either "Rechts!" or "Danke!" when they pass. "Rechts!" means - to the right, "Danke!" means - thank you.
If you own now 2 maps, it is OK. Take both, sometimes you will need both to compare them. I also own 2 maps. Then if you decide to cycle from Passau to Regensburg, you will need one more. We rode from Vienna to Passau and turned back to Vienna in Passau. It was raining heavily. We regreted it later. We could ride up to Regensburg along the Path. On the other hand, it was not bad, taking into account that we had 12 years child with us.
The map, which I recommended, served me well. "The proof of the pudding is in eating." - so this map served well on the Path. Now this map falling apart, because it was used in the heavy rain not once.
