I am thinking of getting into racing, and I do a lot of road riding so extra efficiency would be a plus.
I'd go clipless but for my fear of crashing in hard, twisty, bumpy, gnarly stuff which I like to take "too fast".
Would these: http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/11552-240_SHI323-3-Parts-65-Pedals/Shimano-PD-M--324-SPD-Clipless-Mountain-Pedals.htm work well and be a good way to transition??

Thanks.

No. Get yourself a set of Time ATAC's. Control Z's to start and then you can transition to the racier models.
The M-324's are a joke

Other than 5 bucks, what's the difference between the ATAC Z and ATAC Control Z pedal?
