Hi everyone

I have just installed a set of 8 inch El camino discs on my Trek MTB. I have a mojor problem with a high pitch ringing coming from the front disc as I am generating speed soon after getting going. Definately no pads are touching the discs and the disc runs freely.
It's like the disc is under stress as the front wheel gathers speed. The sound disappears at high speed.
Was thinking of just re-mounting the disc and see what happens.

Any ideas?

Martin

Yeah, Post this in the bicycle mechanics thread and you might get some answers.

The only thing I can think of is that the pads are touching the rotor. Maybe there is flex when you mount on the bike that causes the pads to touch...

i dunno about high pitched but i get a ringing sound when im going fast on pavement because the tires are so rough it causes the calipur to vibrate and make a ringing sound
