I was looking for a bicycle forum, this looks great :)

I was a bicycle mechanic until recently, and now I'm a computer/network fixer-upper. I like helping people troubleshoot their equipment in either discipline, so hopefully I will be able to make myself useful. :) My web page is here (http://mechbgon.tripod.com) and I'll put up a couple pictures of my wrecked Fuji Team, for kicks. The page is a slow loader if you're on dialup, sorry... :(

I have a Schwinn Paramount frameset to replace the destroyed Fuji, but not enough money to build it up, so I ride an old Cannondale full-touring bike and a typical XC-oriented mountain bike. Too much of my money has gone into computers lately (bad computer! no electricity for YOU tonight! :crash: ).

If anyone's looking for a good computer-hardware forum, I can recommend the AnandTech forums here: http://forums.anandtech.com/index.cfm You can find me there as mechBgon also.

How did you wreck the Fuji? Looks bad!

An oncoming sedan turned left and broadsided me at about 15mph. It had a fairly low hood so it struck me around knee level, and sent the bike flying into another car while I flew over the hood and landed on the street. I took a hit to the helmet, but not too hard, and came out of it with a scraped-up face and bruises. The little old lady simply didn't see me, perhaps I was hidden by the windshield pillar. I'm just glad it wasn't a vehicle with a taller hood!
