Mountain Biking - How do Answer shoe sizes run?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hey everyone,
First off, I'm a roadie. I am posting here because I know a lot of MTB guys are using Answer shoes, moreso than the road cyclists.
I'm going to be ordering some Answer Tantric/Crank Brother pedals today from Nashbar since it is such an awesome deal, but I'm not quite sure what I need. I'm ordering either a 42 and 43. Does anyone have any experience with Answer shoes, and if they run big or small? I know the general rule of buying clothes you can't try on is to buy big, so I'll probably go for the 43's, but I'm not sure if it will be too big.
Thanks

Hey everyone,

That's okay, we won't hold it against you, but around here it's kind of a 'don't ask, don't tell' sort of thing.
Mail order shoes either fit or they don't (usually the latter).
Unless you can find some to try on somewhere, it's a crapshoot. Take your best guess and be prepared to ship them back.

Thanks for the help. Does anyone have actual experience with any Answer shoes?

I just went to REI, they only had Shimano and Pearl Izumi to try (and Sidi's, but those were too high-tech to try, haha). The Shimano was much smaller fitting than the Pearl Izumi. How would Answer compare sizewise to Shimano and/or Pearl Izumi?
Thanks
I ordered some online as well. I ordered the same size (45) as my Pearl Izumi road shoes and they fit great.

I own a pair of Answer speeders. I almost always wear a 10 no matter the brand of shoe. I went with a sz 44 (10) and they fit great. These are my first clipless shoes and overall ive been really happy with them. Theyre actually really comfortable, much more than I was expecting.

I bought the Answer Impact/Egg Beater Combo from Nashbar. The pedals are great and the shoes are also very impressive. It's been almost a year and I have zero complaints. Easy to clean and the shoes are easy to walk in after a couple of rides. Think I paid about 119 bucks for the combo. My shoe size is 11 1/2 - 12 and the European size is 46. Go to Nashbar's site to get the right size. Great shoes. Thumbs up from me. Good luck.

Answer shoes run true to size. I've owned 2 different pair.
If in doubt of the size, ALWAYS, ALWAYS buy a larger size....
You can always wear a shoe that's a little big, but too tight? "Forget About It..."
