Mountain Biking - Repair or Peplace Chainrings

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
My chainrings have become so bent that they rub against the front deraiileur. I was wondering if I should try to straighten the chainrings or just go and get some new ones. Also do most bike shops offer to straighten chainrings?
Thanks

replace them (and maybe consider a bashring).
I always end up having to touch mine up a few times in the season, the occasional log catches me..YOu can do it yourself, But be carefull not to break off a tooth, I know the guy at the bike shop told me to use a rubber mallet if possible. At least try to straighten them before you get new ones, which ring is bent?
I think it might be the middle one, so I guess I might have to just get a new crank.
Thanks
