I just started riding and i'm wondering if an anybody knows of any websites, books or magazines where i can learn about BMX riding??? Also if anybody knows some good bike parts because i want to build one, right now i have a crappy heavy mongoose from toys r us i got for my birthday.
There's a site called www.bmxtrix.com, but I heard from some forum members that it kind of sucks. Just kidding, give that a go.

for parts go to DansComp.com...or call their phone 1-888-888-DANS..........just ask about what bikes and bike parts are good.......if i were you i would either buy a Haro or Redline.....they arn't too expensive and you can get a pretty decent bike for like $250...and if you get any upgrades make sure you get a sealed crank and a nice set of wheels.....they will help you alot in the long run...plus you get to say that you actually have a sealed crank...lol...Alex Triple Wall rims are the best.....Profile or Primo cranks are DA' BEST......forks..FBM, Bars..S&M Slam Bars, Headset..DK MPH, Chain.. Shadow Interlock, Sprocket...pretty much all of them but FBM, Redline, and Eastern make some pretty nice stuff.......just make sure you don't buy cheap stuff....believe me i know all too well....i tried it.....it don't work for crap........ok welp i hope i helped

the shadow chain and the dk mph headset suck, i no from experience with the chain and every review i have ever read about the dk headset sucked and there is some pretty good evidence to prove it sucks, check BMX-TEST.COM if you want info on what parts are good or not

Don't worry about what you ride until your riding demands a better bike.
There's trick tips and how-to's on this site, where you go from there depends on what your interest is...flat, street, park, dirt, vert...I would suggest learning some basic balance tricks like manuals, endos, rollbacks and such. The best riders are *still* the ones who have a little background in everything.

Ok. Primo cranks suck. S&M pitch or ody race/flat/dirt forks are probably the best. There is no best bar. it's all preference. 510 is the best chain. i got a free shadow chain, it works fine for me. Tree sprockets are good.

you shouldent have putt it on backwards then
that is your own fault that it sucks when installed correctly it works fine. and ANYTHING FROM DK SUCKS and if you read on the directions it says not to use 25/9 gearing with it

if you put the Shadow chain on backwards, it will be more prone to break, and suck, and DK parts dont suck, the DK seven.three bars are really nice, so are there complete bikes, but i would never use that headset, i have a FSA Pig coming in the mail...
and for the 25/9 gearing with the Shadow Chain, its possible, just not recommend because it takes longer for the chain the "breakin" or form to your cog/freewheel, so they dont recomend it.
its been done, many times.
and the Shadow Chain isnt that good anyways go with a KMC 510 or some other KMC chain...
