I recenly put tire shine on my tire and some of it go into the pads. How do i clean them?

I recenly put tire shine on my tire and some of it go into the pads. How do i clean them?
many people on here will tell you to use alcohol. I would probably use a contact/brake cleaner. Just don't spray onto painted surfaces that could be damaged. I have seen people on this site be all worried about residue from brake cleaners:rolleyes:...I don't know what brand they're using, but all the ones I use dry residue free.

Sometimes the bought lessons are the most valuable. Get new pads unless you can find something that dissolves silicone (and it won't be alcohol).

I believe that it is non-silicon tire shine. Armor All Extreme Tire Shine. I have one question, what is contact/brake cleaner. Is it the brake cleaner used on cars. I have caliper brake pads,will this work on that?

For caliper pads, light sandpaper on pads and rims might work.

Yep, give your pads a sand. Clean your rims with alchahol or brake cleaner. Pads are so cheap, if that dosn't work just buy new ones.
I put soem of that 'Tyre Black', stuff on my wheel and it looks like new :D.

For caliper pads, light sandpaper on pads and rims might work.
I agree with V-brake pads. It has worked for me. But I don't know about disc pads.

yes...there are various brands...some probably less potent than others (try CRC from auto zone or something...). It shouldn't be a problem on the pads. Clean the rim contact surface too. It's worth a try before you buy new ones. Contact cleaner is always nice to have :D
