Ok I'm looking for a "Cheap" FS frameset that can handle some DH nothing insane. just a simple weight is no object frame W/ some decent travel.

here is what I have spoted so far.

04 Kona Dawg $599.99 @ wheelworld
* 4" Rear Wheel Travel
* Fox Float R Rear Shock with Pro-Pedal

03 KHS FR2000 $299.99 @ wheelworld
*4, 5or 6” of sweet adjustable travel with Romic shock

I am thinking the KHS will do me right, I feel the KONA is probably a better bike, BUT the price it right on the KHS

Any opinons??

Kona. It's the only one out of those three I'd trust

The KHS could be ok, at interschools someone was running one of them. This entailed doing arguably the harshest DH track on your bike in Australia. Then again that is the only one I have ever seen and I only saw it a couple of times.

Yep. I'd go for the Kona also. You'll save money in the long run, and have a much better bike: better frame, better shock.

I would go with Kona also. KHS is iffy and I don't like diamond backs.

OK what would be money better spent $599.00 for tha Kona OR $180.00 for a Azonic steelhead and spend the $400ish I save on better wheel set or fork?

AZONIC ($180) or Kona ($599.00) that is the question of the day???? :)

Get the steelhead and put the 400 towards a 66rc....

A 66RC is a pretty darn tall fork. (at least for 05) If I were in your situation, I would save more money. Dont settle for equipment that you dont really like and/or regret buying.

yes but I am just getting started in DH so all I realy need is a bike that won't be broken evry weekend while I hone some skils.

I think I'm ging with the KHS? or the steel head but I want FS and the price is right on the KHS

Far be it from me to suggest anything unpopular, but the KHS is probably your best bet. I've included a link so you can read some reviews. Just be sure to put the savings into the best spec you can afford. Personally, I'm liking the idea of matching Kona Stinky's for the missus and myself, but Wheelworld will probably sell out before we're back in the states.
