No one with any sense would deny the likelihood of Armstrong in the top 3 but do you think Galdeano stands a chance of pipping him to the post?

ONCE have been great to watch as a team, and Beloki's performance has been solid as well.

How about Kelme - Botero's time trial was impressive, and Sevilla's not far down the GC?

I don't think Armstrong was ever as relaxed about the competition as his fans, and this could be a close tour...

Your answer will be in the mountains, Richard. If he can beat Armstrong in the mountains he has a chance.

Botero, Gonzalez de Galdeano and Beloki all look good. I don't dare hope that one of them could unseat the king...

well Velocipedio you know my position on this, but
I do think it could happen. There is Talk in the peloton
"Armstrong is showing his age. . ." " Armstrong has shown a
chinck in his armour. . ."
However there was similiar talk about LA last year on the
Col de Madelaine etc.

According to Bruyneel (quoted from Sat 13th) :
"Most of the crucial mountain stages and the last time trial take
place in the last week of the Tour," Bruyneel said.
"As a result, our preparation was based on being
strong in the last week, at the risk of sacrificing the first time trial."

How about LA coming forward as Patron, and chastizing
Kelme and Rabo for attacking while The Maillot Jaune was
taking a whiz? I thought that was pretty good.

That was good sportsmanship. Personally I think Armstrong deserves to do well, but I'd like to see Galdeano on the podium.

Indeed. Based on his post ride comments, and the fact that he came so close to Botero's time and was undoubtedly being advised of his split times vs. Botero on the road I think he is showing his age by being smart. LA has plenty of good reasons for sandbagging right now.

Well, he wasn't the only one. And thinking back to last year, waiting when Jan wrecked, he's put his money where his mouth is, so to speak. So what were those guys thinking? Paybacks are hell.
