My name is Ian Wells. The site was recommended by a neighbor who has a wider variety of bikes than I do.
I have been a bike commuter my whole working life. I was one of the first members of Velo Halifax cycle club in Nova Scotia. My wife and I fell in love on a bike tour of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. ( Now I'm lucky enough to work at a bike touring company www.experienceplus.com) setting up computer and communications systems for our head office and international operations. What can I say? I love bicycling and I always have. Well, I also love sailing, but that's a different forum....
At ExperiencePlus, I led the project to divide up our web site into our bike touring business ( our conventional business web site ) and our Reading Room ( www.experienceplus.com/reading_room).
The Reading Room is a collection of articles and essays to do with helping others set out on adventure travel and cycling, as opposed to focus on our own business in particular. If we have information already posted that can answer questions appearing in this forum, I'll be providing links and background based on our experiences.
I've got a new Cannodale road bike so I hope to do more road touring.
I live in Fort Collins, the most bike friendly town I've ever lived in. The climate helps too. I bike to work pretty well every day. My kids all bike too. The only downside for Fort Collins is that I only live 4 miles from work, I'd prefer a longer bike commute, but can't get myself to make a commute longer, it just doesn't work for me.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
