Racing in SW Wisconsin this weekend. About 100 people in a 32 mile hilly road race. Was marking my main competitor in the cruiser division and was in the pac with the lead women. Two of my goals are to beat all the women and win the cruiser division for the season. Anyway, having a good, smart race. At mile 27 a women two bikes ahead hits back wheel and goes down. Guy behind her swerves. By the time I know anything is going on, she is in the middle of the road and I ride over her mid section. Next thing I am setting on the road telling myself to stay low until all the bikes clear. Later my cruiser buddy tells me he road over me, I didn't know it at the time. Anyway, lady is screaming about not being able to breath. Even I know that is a good sign. If she couldn't breath, she counldn't have made so much noise. I see three guys that didn't crash, one saying he is a doctor, taking care of her so I go lay in the ditch head up to survey the damage. I know my shoulder is screwed up and was hoping it was the same I seperated 20 years ago. Didn't have anything done with it at that time. Was happy to note it was same one. Long story somewhat short, lady was OK after check up at hospital. Doc says shoulder is seperated as before, live with it a few months and you will probably decide, as before, not to do anything. Oh, almost forgot, soon as I knew the lady was screaming enough to be OK and checked myself out I got up and checked the bike. Slightly wobbly front wheel I hope I can tune back into shape.
