I want to put a new set of flat bars on my Rockhopper Comp - according to Specializes spec sheet, my current bars have a diameter of 38mm. Will I have to get a new stem along with new bars or do I just need to find flat bars that have the same diameter as my old? I was looking at the Raceface Next series but thay only come in 31.5 mm I believe. Any suggestions/help?

Thank you!!

Just look for a bar the same size as yours. Your stem will still be fine.

according to Specializes spec sheet, my current bars have a diameter of 38mm.

Are you sure about that 38mm size ?

There are generally two sizes in the MTB world

25.4mm - the standard size in recent years

31.8mm - The 'new' oversized bars

It looks like from specialized web site that your riser bars have a 38mm rise in them and they do not specify a clamp diameter. Usually, when they do not specify a diameter it is 25.4mm, but make sure you check before you buy a new bar.

I'm sorry. You're correct. 38mm rise on them with a 9 degree sweep.
