Touring - Le Puy to Santiago de Compostela
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Is anyone familiar with Way of St. James: Le Puy to Santiago - A Cyclists' Guide, by John Higginson. It is sold by the Confraternity of St James.

Yep- on my list of things to get, as I'm planning a research trip along two of the chemins next year- including the one from Le Puy as far as Roncevaux. The book is reputedly very useful. Have you seen MayQ's site (http://www.mayq.com/Best_european_trips/Saint_James_of_Compostella/Saint_James%20of%20Compostella.htm) ? There are some really handy tips there, as well!
So, does that mean you have used it, or have heard of it?

I've just finished Anne Mustoe's book "Amber, Fur and cockleshells" where she rides that route. Lots of interesting info. "www.virgin.com/books"

Heard of it, read excerpts from it, on my list of things to read this fall.
Thanks for the replies folks. I guess I'll be fine without the Higginson guide. I'll stick with my 1:300k Michelin maps
