The subject line says it all. My Surly Fixed/Fixed Mavic MA3/Conti Ultra 2000 wheel was stolen outside of my office in Dupont today. Some bottom feeder will get theirs.

Any and all notices please notify me via PM.

Are we talking front or rear wheel? Are we talking broad daylight? Do you lock your wheels or just your frame?

I shall keep my eyes open but this pisses me off. I continue to hope that DC remain relatively thief free in relation to NYC.

Sorry to hear this. Yeah, I would feel like there was a bullet with my name on it if I ever stole a part from someone else's bicycle. Try to get over this one as quickly as possible and maybe get at least a cable lock to deter theft. Or, a gun.

Rear wheel, thanks for the condolences. Shame on me, I only locked my frame. I thought that would be good enough in broad daylight. This happened in lower Dupont on 19th st. and M. Funny thing, there was a nice Bianchi Brava right next to mine.

I will be on the look out for your wheel. Surly hub, mavic hoop, conti tire? Might be a little hard to find. Maybe lock your bike up next time? Or take it in?

I'll be the first to admit the idea of finding this wheel is laughable at best. Basically I got the Citybikes special. Who doesn't have a Surly Hub, Mavic rim, and Conti tire! But thank you for looking out.

Lesson learned, I will bring my bike in to the corporate garage. Maybe they'll let me use the corporate washroom too...

its not exactly the safest of places to leave things around

still, im sorry to hear that.
show up on friday and i'll buy you a drink

yeah, it's not unusual for crackheads to steal whatever they can find near dupont, then sell it in dupont circle.

there's this terrible story about a messenger's bike, cut through the frame by a theif, who then wrapped the cut toptube in duct tape and tried to sell the bike in dupont circle.
