Does the length and tightness of the chain effect acceleration?
Yeah sure, if it's too loose your chain will fall off = no acceleration.

yes, and no, yes it very well could,but no i dont know anywon that has had problems...are you a racer or just a """Freestyler""" or """trailrider""""?

racers want looser chains so there is less friction and resistance out of the gate.
Freestylers and Trailriders will want their chain to be a little tigheter so that its not going to fall off with a bad crash, and also have it tighter makes it harder to break the chain or "strech" it. But dont want to too too tight or you will wear out you cog/freewheel and chainwheel. Just a little slack unless your a racer then youll want to loosen it up more...

No, trail and park riders want their chain tight so their crankn doesn't move during no footed tricks. They also hold their brakes
