Learning more about my vintage finds, and I must say I love my trek 460 that I found at goodwill for 14 bucks. This sucker fits and rides better than my litespeed. Just wondering, it states Tange 1000 for the frame tubing, how does that rank with the Reynolds tubing?

Dont ya love it! Wow, 14clams for a Trek. Have you visited the vintage-trek website? It sounds like yours might be a year off of my '85? I have the site bookmarked but will take the time later on to scope it out.

My '85 has True Temper frame so I cant really say anything about the Tange steel except that Trek would only use quality stuff.

The 460's are good little bikes.

Yeah, I just love searching out the vintage road bikes - the blood really starts pumping when entering the goodwill parking lots and see a new batch of bikes sittting there, most likely nothing, but every once in a while!! My best scores have been the Trek 460 in my size and a Univega Superstrata with full dura ace from 83 in mint condition, size is 62cm way to big for me, but wonderful to look at in the basement bike shop.
