So I've got a 2004 Fuji Finest road bike that I'm using in my triathlons. I'm averaging somewhere in the 16 mph range pretty consistently, but would prefer it to be a bit faster. Since I don't have enough to buy a new bike, I'm looking at upgrading this one. I'm trying to decide between getting some aerobars or getting some clipless pedals and shoes. I only have the money to do one or the other right now, so which one would give me more improvement speedwise?

get the clipless setup. aero can wait. upgrade the engine then the bike. but good attachment to the bike is an absolute.

I would say toss up, clipless makes you a more effective rider vs. bars make you more aero. I would second the cliples spersonally though.

On second thought, you really, really should have clipless to have areo bars, without, you have a very hard time developing equal power all the way around your pedal stoke in the areo bars.

If you go the pedal route, make sure you get comfortable clipping in and out of the pedals before trying any serious riding, you dont want to fall and hurt your self or your bike.
