I'm an avid female mountain biker for 10+ years now. I know what your thinking....Mountain biking in Michigan? Well, it's more like rolling hills and such, But I have traveled all across the country with my trusty bike. We've been to California, Massachusets, Ohio, Vermont (my all time favorite) and let's not forget the U.P. That's the Upper Penninsula of my home state-Michigan. It's the best riding in the state. I started out riding a Trek 800 back in the day, and moved up to a Cannondale after I rented one to ride around the island of Nantucket (MA). This brings me to my current bike: a Gary Fisher HKEK "05" I have never ridden it yet, It's still in lay away until I pay it off, hopefully by the end of July.
I love the sport, but I wish there were more female riders out there. It has gotten better since I started out years ago. Every guy should buy their girlfriend a mountain bike (forget the diamonds!)
Shimano is a girl's best friend :D
