Did anybody notice that Brian Lopes (former pro downhiller, current dual slalom racer) is racing in U.S. Team track events? I thought this was one of the more interesting crossovers in sport lately. I, for one, have always been impressed by the power and endurance of serious bmx, downhill and slalom racers - though I race XC and some road. He has a blurb about his frist race in Mexico about halfway down.

Yes, I noticed this on the federation's website. Very cool!

It irritates the heck out of some of the roadies on my old team. Lance couldn't hack it on a Mt bike but Cadel has been fairly successful as well. Of course, Tomac and Roll didn't exactly tear up European road racing.
