I searched for info on helmets earlier, and it looks like the consensus here is not to pay more than $50, maximum, and that $15-$25 is a more reasonable price range.
I looked at helmets today with my kids at the local hardware store (again, I'm taking it on faith that I can do this and still get a good, protective helmet.) But their largest helmet, sized "Adult" won't fit on my head. In fact, my nine-year-old son can wear it comfortably without any of the sizing pads installed. Kid's a pumpkinhead.
So I looked around online, and the only helmet I found that seemed like it would work for me is the King Head (http://www.genuineaccessories.com/KingHead/KHBicKng.htm) from Bell. This thing is supposed to fit up to 8.25-inch heads, and it costs $20. Is there any reason not to get one of these?
Take your time; I won't be able to go to a bike shop until Saturday at the earliest.
