I just bought a new Selle Italia saddle to replace the stock one that came with my Specialized Sequoia Elite. It seems fine, but after installing it and tightening everything down, I notice a very small amount of play in the fit between the saddle and the clamps that hold the rails to the seatpost. The stock saddle mounted rock solid.
I this something to worry about, or am I sublimating buyer's remorse?

There should be absolutely no play. Perhaps the rail diameter of your new saddle is a bit smaller. If that's the case, try filing the clamp edges down just a bit.
