Bicycle Mechanics - Bent top tube?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
The top tube on a frame I have is ever so slightly bent. The top tube is bent down in the center about 2-3mm. Its a very gradual bend. It looks as though someone might have landed on the toptube with all of their weight while riding(ouch, I hope that didnt happen for the previous owner's sake!) The rest of the frame seems straight. Is this slight bend going to greatly affect ride quality? Does this make the frame worthless? THANKS!!
OR
i'd trust my own safety to a frame with a 2-3 mm bend in the top tube. as for your safety, i can't say.
What is that supposed to mean?
oh btw, its steel.
Your fine then, Ive had worse problems that lasted 3 years.
