View Full Version : TDF top 10 forum competition
I am challenging everyone to a competition picking the top 10 for this TDF. The criteria is this...
Pick your top 10 in order 1-10
All picks to be completed by the end of Wed. 7/6/05 PST
Winner has most riders in top 10 no matter placing
If there is a tie, top three ranking wins
If still tied earliest submission wins
Once submitted no changes will be accepted, only 1 submission of 10 per participant
I will send $5 to the winner, I will denote this by typing YES at the bottom of my selections when I post them. If the forum determines this is not appropriate then we will remove the $ option. If someone types NO for $, then they may win but I will send $5 to the highest contestant saying YES

Wish I had chosen Gonzalez de Galdeano...but I didnt
I am liking the way things seem to be shaking out....what a shame not to have looked at Rasmussen more closely. Valverde and Evans seem to really be on form...and Kloden...wow
I included Valverde in my original list but I accidentally mispelled it as M-A-Y-O. Mods, please correct this error. :o
Jakey is hoping for a strong ride by Kloden in the tt...I am feeling pretty good about 6 of 10 but look to be tied with on or two of you. How about Cadel comming through in the end...Wow

Getting the top two correct is obviously more important than getting 9 and 10 correct. So, based on getting the top 2 right, and having many of the correct names for the top ten, THIS list looks like the front runner.
Jkoman -- I also like your original pick of Valverde, even though he had to drop out with an injury. You were the only one to select him in your top ten.
THIS list [GCasillo] looks like the front runner.
My list also has the top 2 correct and I have six of the top ten right now.
But that is not the contest rules, as orginally proposed by Jkoman.
My picks as follows:
1) Lance
2) Jan
3) Levi
4) Valverde
5) Basso
6) Vino
7) Evans
8) Landis
9) Botero
10)Azevedo
Yes
So, jkoman, are you going to send yourself $5?

Hey, I got the top 3 and missed the top 6 for lack of Mancebo in my picks. Got Rasmussen for KoM (good call, Smoothie). Maybe I should retire and "go out on top." :)
Just back from the Alps...results as follows
jkoman 7
cedo 6
devil 6
ello13 6
jakey 6
cjbruin 6
gcasillo 5
butch 5
pedex 5
hailmec05 5
ada23 5
and last but not least....Laggard 4
I believed in my picks but didn't expect to win...gotta thank Evans for that one

Congrats. Thanks for setting the game up.
Jkoman, you set up the competition, you make the rules, you do the final count, you win. I demand a full investigation.
