Hello,

I am new to this and was wondering how to setup my bike correctly with aero-bars?

My setup is standard Klein geo with aerobars with bullhorn handlebars?

Does the standard plumline on knee to ball of feet work? I noticed that I have to really crank my seat forward to get comfortable. Does your back have to be straight when your arms are on the aerobars?

I guess I am asking for the rule of thumb when it come to setting up my bike with aero-bars.

Any help is welcome.

Thanks,

Bill

Check out slowtwitch.com 's bike fit section. Is the Klein steep seat angle geometry? If so, then yes you should have the seat forward, in the aero bars, you do want your back as flat as possible.

Great article.

I would find a tri shop. A retro fit with clipon aerobars was some of the best money I spent.

All this rule of thumb stuff, i dont like. Find a good bike fitter, and get properly fit.
