Professional Cycling For the Fans - Stage 5: Chambord - Montargis

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Ill probably get flamed for this but anyways..... i bet if Robbie was American none of this would be an issue and would be brushed off as "just the proud american way" or some other excuse.
It's more of an ignorance about competitive cycling than nationalism. A lot of us Americans can talk to no end about the zone blitz defense in American football or the triangle offense in basketball, but all we generally know or see about cycling is Lance Armstrong in a yellow jersey. So few Americans ever see a spring classic or six-day race. C'est la vie.

I thought that Robbie's pointing to himself was mocking the way that Boonen does his thing when he wins.
It was kind of funny. If you watch his post race interview on OLN he's saying that he did it to call attention to his team because they had worked so hard today to get him to the line and pull back the breakaway. Suddenly he shifts gears and says that Lotto AND Quickstep had done a lot of work to bring back the break. I thought it was kind of weird for Robbie to compliment Quick Step, but right then you see Boonen walk behind him. I wonder if he just said it because he was standing there? Curious.

I'm American and I think Robbie got ROBBED and then kicked them all in the JUNK!!!
Pay backs are a female dog and I hope McEwen continues on his retribution spree and wreaks havok on all the others' standings.....He could be the Ross Perot of the Green Jersey! Now that I applaud!!! I also applaud Lance's reluctance to wearing the yellow jersey and chastise the "jury" for making him wear it. Of course, some real brass balls would have said "Oh yeah, take away my BIRTHDAY, and stick it it up your A$$." That's what McCain would have done! Sometimes things don't work like you (we) want though. Right? GO AUSSIE ROBBIE!!!!!

another American who is a big Robbie fan.
Well I'm a big fan of all those sprinters. Did you see how freaking FAST those guys were going at the end. Dude....
I like the whole "I'm the fastest guy on the planet" schtick. Robbie needs to start wearing fur helmets with feathers and diamond encrusted gloves. Cuz he's the pimp.
Where the hell is the sticky for stage 6?

Devil's right. In an effort to discourage Spanish riders from breaking away early, the Tour organizers decided that no points would be awarded to any Spaniard. This is the second year that it's been in effect.
Naughty, naughty boys, both of you!
Now, maybe one of you could explain the German KOM points rule...
