Mountain Biking - Is it safe???

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hey all, I got my new Trek 820 :D :D
It came with budget RST shocks (good enough for what I do)
But, I was just curious..When I sit on my bike, my shocks go down about 3/4 of a centimeter..I like soft shocks, but I dont know if I should get cyclepath to tighten them or not...
Do your shocks sink a little when you sit on your bike??
only if i lean into the bars with my body weight and then push down.

Yes, they are supposed to do that.

most suspension forks and rear shocks have a certain amount of "sag" that they recommend the shock be set to. sag is the amount the shock compresses when you sit on the bike.
And the sag will vary with the rider's weight. Some forks have different kits available so you can tune the fork to the rider's weight.
