His competition won't take him out by crashing. He's always been worried about spectators.

Although it wasn't intentional, Was it last year or the year before that he got taken down by a spectator?

2003. Armstrong was just in front of Mayo, and Ullrich was behind the two of them. I think he caught someones leg or something I dunno. He went down, Mayo went down, Ullrich made a crazy move on his sexy wheels (there's a famous picture of it somewhere) to avoid them, but then waited and they caught up.

It was 2003 when his handle bar got caught on a mussette from a fan. It was not intentional. Just bad luck.

To think that his competition would try to crash into him to beat him is utterly ridiculous.

And shortly after that, didn't he un-clip?

Who? Armstrong? Maybe I dunno. I think that was the crash that took out Lance's chainstay (as in, BROKE it). He was having some pedaling issues and chain jumping issues because his back wheel was twisting due to only have one half of the chainstay support system.

Lance got back up after his crash but had trouble getting clipped in. But thankfully for Lance, Jan and Tyler didn't allow any attacks when Lance when down out of respect for the yellow Jersey and Lance was able to recover(and won the stage).

Very similar to how Lance waited for Jan after he fell in the ditch in 2001

No, no way that would ever happen.
Said rider's career would be over right there, for many reasons. And why would any of them want to do that anyway?
