I'm looking at an early 90's Merckx steel frame, updated with a new ultegra group for around $ 500 US. Does anyone have opinions on these frames, and the value? I won't have the opportunity to inspect it in person, but I am fairly certain the fit will be right.
EDIT: Forgot to mention it has columbus tubing.
Thanks,
Dax
Generally good stuff.Knowing the exact tubeset would be helpful.Condition is everything. It's no deal if it was rode hard put away wet and the insides of the frame are rotted out.It happens.

it may be called the 'classic', or the owner may just be using the word to categorize the bike...not sure. It is in good shape though.
