OK, how in the world do I keep my rotors from rubbing?? I've checking around and the common response is, "
If you have disc brakes expect some rubbing!" Is this pretty accurate? I've purchased new rotors but they still rub slightly. Help? Robert

its basicly how things will be... but you can minimize it by doing the following. loosen the bolts that tighten the caliper onto the bracket (the thing that mounts onto the fork or frame), then squeeze the lever all the way, and tighten the bolts back up.

Your method is almost right... you need a piece of cardstock or like a buisiness card folded in half wedged into the FIXED pad side to space it properly. Otherwise, if you do the loose caliper/squeeze method without the card to space it, the fixed pad will just wind up pressed against the rotor.

Yeah you're totally right, the inside isn't quite fixed, but it does not travel like the outside pad. 9.9x out of 10 you will need to use a spacer like a buisiness card on the inside pad to get it to quit rubbing.

I've been running a pair of HFX9s that have had rubbing ever since I got em. Couldn't stop it no matter what, even using the technique described by Dirtjump. LBS said I'd just have to learn to live with it. I'm gonna give your method a try, Seely, and see what comed of it.
