HANOVER, N.H. -- A Dartmouth business student is getting a lot of attention for a macabre new food product.

Tuck Business school student Mark Nuckols said he's doing brisk business for "Hufu," a tofu product that's made to taste like human flesh.

Nuckols said he got the idea for Hufu while eating a soy-turkey sandwich and reading a book about cannibalism.

That is ********, all they say is:

How do you know HufuTM tastes like human flesh?
The taste and texture of HufuTM are the result of painstaking research and extensive testing in our kitchens. We are supremely confident that our food products would satisfy the tastes of even the most demanding cannibal.

Tastes like chicken. :D

I understand Hufu's point to a degree. Many people are vegetarian because killing and eating animals is morally objectionable to them and eating animal products is just nasty and gross. So to them, "animal-flavored" veggie fare like veggie burgers, "chicken" nuggets, and veggie franks doesn't make sense. To some of them, eating a cow is the same as eating a human. Hence, human flavored soy to parody beef-flavored veggie burgers.

I limit my consumption of meat to some degree to reduce my resource consumption footprint, but I don't equate humans with non-humans and I have no moral compunction against eating dew-eyed, cute, furry critters. I really like the taste of animal flesh and I seared plenty of it on a charcoal grill this past Independence Day weekend here in the USA. I kind of like Andy Rooney's quip: "Vegetarian -- that's an old Indian word meaning Lousy Hunter."

Read the FAQ, human flesh does NOT taste like chicken.
Geez, what are there no cannibals in your family?

It sounds gross, yes, but I think this "Hufu" does have a intended purpose for being on the market. Our world thrived on cannibalism and was necessary for survival. Most if not all of our ancestors have resorted to cannibalism in some sort or another. Even today, carnivores need to kill to survive. Though I could be wrong, this could be used to really teach us about our past and what those people had to do all over the world in order to survive.

Don't get me wrong...I could be wrong about this...But my thoughts.
